Thick-Cut Challah Bread French Toast

I think it’s safe to say French Toast is probably one of my favorite go to meals for Brunch!

This recipe is straight and to the point. Definitely try this one out next time you plan on showcasing those chef skills in the kitchen!

Ingredients

  • (1) Loaf Challah Bread

  • (4) Eggs

  • (1) Cup Milk

  • Unsalted Butter

  • (1/2) Cup Granulated Suagr

  • (1) tbsp Ground Cinnamon

  • (1) tsp Ground Nutmeg

  • (1/2) tsp Ground AllSpice

  • (1) tsp Vanilla Extract

  • (1) tsp Orange Extract

  • Powdered Sugar (Optional - Use for garnish)


Instructions:

  1. Grab a large mixing bowl and add your Eggs, Milk, Granulated Sugar, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, AllSpice, Vanilla Extract and Orange Extract. Whisk to combine, then set aside.

  2. Grab a cutting board and slice your Challah Bread into thick slices.

  3. Take a large skillet and place on Medium-High heat.

  4. Dip Challah Breah slices into your custard mixture for 30 seconds.

  5. Once your skillet is hot add (1) tablespoon of Unsalted Butter for every piece of Challah Bread. (Note - Ensure not to burn your butter during this process. Turn the heat down if necessary)

  6. Cook 2-3 minutes per side.

  7. Remove once finished.

  8. Garnish with some dusted Powdered Sugar and top with Maple Syrup.

  9. Serve and enjoy!
